A couple of things to note: 1) this is based on an older Uno design, so it doesn’t have the pins that were added in R3 (IOREF and “Not Connected”). This in combination with the height and placement of the capacitors makes it incompatible with some shields, at least when assembled correctly. (I’m going to try building another one with some extra lead on the capacitors so that I can bend them over and out of the way – I’ll report back on whether that was a success or not.) 2) The assembly instructions came from sparkfun, and in my case, the parts didn’t always exactly match what the instructions called for. Nothing that was too big of a deal, but it could throw off a beginner: some of the capacitors were a slightly different value, and the resistors were the correct value but used 4 bars instead of 3 so you can’t just go with the colors in the instructions. Altogether, though, I’m very happy with the result and will probably be picking up a couple more of these.
