From the 16th century, when Caterina de’ Medici brought to France these sweets delicacies, macarons took their origins, or better their notoriety. Called maccarons, from the wording Maccarone, their origin is 100% Italian, where from the 8th century they were cooked for nobles families and served for special occasions.
